Online-Safety – Guidance and Support for Parents/Carers
At St Anne’s, we support our pupil’s use of the internet and seek to underpin their knowledge of safe use and protection. We understand that the internet is a wonderful resource, which also poses many dangers. Just as we want to keep children safe in the home, school and community, we also want to keep them safe from harm in the online world. We provide our pupils with an awareness of how to stay safe online both in the school environment and beyond.
SMART:
We use the SMART rules, for top tips to stay safe online.
Safe – Keep personal and private information secure (check privacy settings)
Meeting – Never meet strangers unless with a trusted adult present.
Accepting – Don’t open documents of files you don’t recognise or trust. Don’t accept people you do not know.
Reliable – Can you trust who is messaging you?
Tell – Tell a trusted adult (one of our Fab 5) if you feel worried or unsure.
